Alice Dooley (Barrantes-Impish Dancer) was in-bred 3x2 to Brother Fox and the direct damline of both sire and dam traced to the same famous female family. It is the same famous female family found duplicated in G1 winner and prized broodbitch Born Ali.

John Dart his wife Glenda and son Sam, were floating on Saturday night when their dog Typhoon Sammy (Aston Dee Bee-Zabaleta by Magic Sprite) swept to a Bendigo track record and a spot in the G2 Bendigo Cup final next weekend.

The Jackie Greenough-trained bitch, not two years old until February next year, won by 27 and a half lengths ... YES, 27 and a half lengths. When a performance like that happens, it's time to analyse her pedigree.

BREEDERS who look to outcross matings as the salvation of bloodlines should take a good hard look at the pedigree of Susie Sapphire. The black bitch, by Droopys Jet-Jetsteam Lynx by Zero Ten, is the queen of greyhound racing in Ireland.

Some fascinating pedigree match-ups from the week just gone. Heading the list has to be G1 Irish Derby finalist Jackslittlething (Droopys Sydney-Limini by Droopys Nidge). The youngster turned two in August but here he is going through six rounds of the Derby and making the final.

SOME very interesting pedigree designs popped up during the past week and they all deserve analysis. First, there is "boom" youngster Indictment (Jury-Velocity Onyx by Barcia Bale). His 29.69 win at Albion Park last Thursday night was simply awesome. He is yet another of the Tony Brett/Steve Williams partnership to prove himself.

When Col and Joy Curtis up at Atkinsons Dam in Queensland landed the time-honoured Eric Thomson Memorial Maiden at Albion Park last Thursday night with KEYED ALIKE (Keybow-Invergarry Lady by Mr Prizz) it was a feature race victory well deserved.

The son of Silent Effective-Kalaycia has now raced 47 times for 14 wins, 14 placings and earned $53,000 in stakes. Interesting that he comes from a litter of five named offspring but is easily the standout. In fact, only two of the litter have won a race each and two others are non-winners.

South Australians have known for a long, long time now the worth of the Corrumbene Lass damline. So, when the Group 3 Howard Ashton was run and won at Murray Bridge on Sunday it was no surprise that damline was dominant, once again.

Ray Burman has the midas touch...Or could it be that he knows his hugely successful broodbitch line backwards. Maybe it's a bit of both.

More fascinating winners from the past few days will interest breeding enthusiasts. They include 29.57 Sandown winner Eat My Dust (Barcia Bale-Appointed by Fernando Bale) and Cannington winner Like You (My Redeemer-One For Tiger by Barcia Bale).

WAGGA breeder Michael Finn should rightly be proud of his endeavours to establish a damline of the highest order. That was on show for the world to see on Thursday night when Tiggerlong Tonk (Dyna Double One-Tiggerlong Dot by Spring Gun) finally shook off for good his Group 1 hoodoo when winning the Harrison Dawson at Sandown.

Lots to write about this week from both here and in New Zealand. First up, Shima Shine (Barcia Bale-Shima Song by Dyna Tron) carried on his winning way into yet another G1 feature, this time the Harrison Dawson.

Racing around Oz in the past few days has been busy with Group and feature races run on both sides of the country.

Zipping Rambo is by Mister Twister-Zipping Maggie by Turanza Bale and is a "clone" of the superstar race dog wining 26 races and $478,000 including Group 1 victories in the Perth Cup, Temlee and Hume Cup, My Bro Fabio.

Sunday’s Group 3 Nowra Puppy Classic has brought together some very promising youngsters with a range of pedigrees that made for an interesting race. The one that caught my eye most was Overflow Lisa (Rippin Sam-Vicki Keeping by Bekim Bale).

Even over in NZ, Aston Dee Bee continues to turn out top class gallopers, this time Group 1 NZ Derby winner Pedro Lee.

Anyone who watched in awe of the early pace Tommy Shelby showed to head off the Egg field at Wentworth Park on Saturday night would have also thought just what a potential stud dog star he could become. The son of Fernando Bale-Serena Fly High took his race record to 44 starts for 29 wins and 11 placings and the victory in the Egg took his bank roll to $1 million.
