FOR however long the race career of Wow She's Fast lasts, headline writers will always have a ball with her name.
It was just like that when the daughter of My Bro Fabio-Fair Of Face by Barcia Bale made her phenomenal debut at Sandown in a 515m Maiden on Sunday.
The Jackie Greenough-trained bitch, not two years old until February next year, won by 27 and a half lengths ... YES, 27 and a half lengths.
And, she ran 29.09 the fastest EVER by a maiden.
When a performance like that happens, it's time to analyse her pedigree.
She is yet another classy offspring by former G1 star My Bro Fabio one of the finest sources of stamina there has been in this country for years.
He is a much maligned stud dog but much better than he is given credit for. His progeny have earned $18.6 million.
Wow She's Fast is out of Fair Of Face (Barcia Bale-Catch Up Sunday by Pure Octane) and she could gallop winning 14 races and $39,000. Her victories included a number of city wins and she was fourth to Up Hill Jill in the G2 Laurels.
Her mother, Catch Up Sunday, won eight and was a finalist in the G2 Cranbourne Cup to Gold Heritage, and she got 700m.
The next dam, Bella Portrait won just one race but is from famous producer Prima Portrait. Bella Portrait was also the dam of Big Ticket, by Fabregas, and a multiple Group finalist including fourth to Above All in the G1 Hobart 1000.
Bella Portrait is also a half sister to super sprinter and G1 sire Primo Uno found EVERYWHERE in pedigrees today.
This, of course, is the same female family of Shimaguni (in-bred to the family) who is the second dam of champion Shima Shine (by Barcia Bale).
So, it's pretty obvious that Wow She's Fast is from a female line that just oozes class.
Her dam Fair Of Face is in-bred 3x2 to the famous half brothers Hallucinate and Pure Octane. This is the cross found in G1 star Mepunga Hayley.
So, when Fair Of Face was mated to My Bro Fabio it brought in some very significant in-breeding ... a 3x4x3 cross of litter brothers Where's Pedro and Hallucinate and their half brother Pure Octane ALL of them positioned to impact with each other in the mating.
But, to top off all of this, My Bro Fabio is a grandson of Primo Uno. Remember, Fair Of Face is also from the same "Portrait" family.
What was produced when Fair Of Face was mated to My Bro Fabio was a pedigree of saturated bloodlines, almost to the stage Fabio and Fair Of Face are virtual brother and sister.
It has certainly worked.
Maidens do not win by 27 and a half lengths in 29.09 on debut without being extra, extra special.
I have always believed My Bro Fabio and Barcia Bale would combine successfully in pedigrees. That's because Fabio has done exceptionally when he mates bitches with Hallucinate in their pedigree right up to G1 level, and Barcia has sired to G1 level offspring with Where's Pedro in their dam.
It just has to work by linking Fabio and Barcia.
The multitude of crosses of the Wheeler family's famed foundation bitch Gail's Beauty comes in via Turanza Bale, Handsomelee in Where's Pedro, Hallucinate and Pure Octane's damline, and that through Lansley Bale was also there to help Wow She's Fast go 29.09 on debut at Sandown.
