Pepper Grinder

GEE…there are some fabulous pedigrees to closely look at from weekend racing.

The first is Pepper Grinder (Zack Monelli-Moto Doll by Cosmic Rumble). The bitch is a promising middle distance performer who won at Mandurah on Saturday night in 37.50.

It was her fifth win, but her litter sister Miss Ronnie Mac (10m wins, $65,000) is slick as well.

But what is interesting about their pedigree is the 3x2 of Magic Sprite and Cosmic Rumble coming so strongly through the middle to impact greatly on their genetics.

Magic Sprite and Cosmic Rumble have been highly successful at stud so combining them in a pedigree was always going to have influence. They have already become dominant broodbitch sires.

They are bred identically … but in reverse.

Magic Sprite is by Brett Lee from a daughter of Spiral Nikita.

Cosmic Rumble is by Spiral Nikita from a daughter of Brett Lee.

OVER at The Meadows, Raven Peter (Aston Rupee-My Black Raven by SH Avatar) was successful.

A quick look at the pedigree will show it brings in a 2x2 at the top and bottom of the mating to KC And All and Raven Peter’s 2 nd dam Moto Taryn.

They are both bred on the Gable Dodge/P’s Raising Cain cross

AND, My Black Raven is bred on a strong Gable Dodge/Molotov cross on both sides of her pedigree.

Aston Rupee is proving himself with plenty of winners.

Another from The Meadows on Saturday night was Aston Lord (Aston Rupee-Aston Opal by Black Magic Opal).

He won in 29.92 leading throughout and scoring by four lengths.

When Aston Rupee retired to stud, being a son of the US stud dog KC And All, I always believed he would need to mate bitches that had MUCH in common with his dam Aston Miley.

Aston Lord’s pedigree is proof of that.

Aston Miley and Aston Opal both bring in crosses of Head Honcho, Bombastic Shiraz and the half brothers Hallucinate and Pure Octane.

No wonder Aston Lord can run.

GETS Late Early is a classy bitch, having already proven that with success in the G1 National Futurity.

The daughter of Flying Ricciardo-Poco Dorado by Fernando Bale won again at Wenty on Saturday night, this time in 29.58.

A month or so ago, Barry Gibbons landed the G1 Peter Mosman Opal with Tulsi Banner (Blue Moon Rising-Lilly Banner by Dyna Double One).

Check out the pedigree of both these great bitches and you will see they are bred identically but in reverse.

Blue Moon Rising and Poco Dorado are littermates, while Dyna Double One is a son of Barcia Bale and so in Flying Ricciardo.

There is also a cross of that famed broodbitch Zimbabwe in both their pedigrees.

Fernando Bale and Dyna Double One, of course, both trace to the famed Wheeler foundation bitch Gail’s Beauty.

The litters that contain Gets Late Early and Tulsi Banner are fabulous.
