When Col and Joy Curtis up at Atkinsons Dam in Queensland landed the time-honoured Eric Thomson Memorial Maiden at Albion Park last Thursday night with KEYED ALIKE (Keybow-Invergarry Lady by Mr Prizz) it was a feature race victory well deserved.

The son of Silent Effective-Kalaycia has now raced 47 times for 14 wins, 14 placings and earned $53,000 in stakes. Interesting that he comes from a litter of five named offspring but is easily the standout. In fact, only two of the litter have won a race each and two others are non-winners.

South Australians have known for a long, long time now the worth of the Corrumbene Lass damline. So, when the Group 3 Howard Ashton was run and won at Murray Bridge on Sunday it was no surprise that damline was dominant, once again.

The son of Fernando Bale-Serena Fly High took his race record to 44 starts for 29 wins and 11 placings and the victory in the Egg took his bank roll to $1 million.

Peter Rocket was a favourite race dog of mine back a few years ago and when his son Burn Time made the final of next weekend's G1 Association Cup with a long-priced heat win on Saturday night it was satisfying.

Proven crosses that lead to greatly successful greyhounds abound in this world ... and even over the ditch. Sunday's fabulous race meeting that saw the running of the Group 1 Auckland Cup and Group 1 Railway Sprint proved that again.

NOT so long ago, the internet was wild with the view the first progeny sired by Aston Dee Bee were short coursers unable to run a strong 500m. The "internet experts" were wrong again, with the running of the G2 Launching Pad series, the spotlight quickly shone on Aston Dee Bee's son Kuro Kismet.

The super 29.49 performance by All Hands Off at Albion Park on Thursday night certainly means her fabulous pedigree deserves close scrutiny.

Saturday night's Group 2 Horsham Cup result was a victory for bloodlines intensity if ever there was one. That monster of the racetrack, Shima Shine (Barcia Bale-Shima Song by Dyna Tron), swept to victory to add to his ever growing reputation. Boxed to win as he did, Shima Shine had come off yet another track record victory in his heat.

Stanley Road carries a 2x3 cross of the virtual sisters Greta Bale (Where's Pedro-Gold Rush Bale) and Princess Bale (Hallucinate-Gold Rush Bale). Where's Pedro and Hallucinate are litter brothers.

The son of Bombastic Shiraz-Chili Berger won the 13 races from 28 starts and earned $87,000 when racing way back in 2007. His claim to fame was victory in the Group 1 National Sprint beating Pure Burst and Mandagery Man putting $50,000 into his bank account.

To watch Wow's performance against Group 1 sprint rivals in The Temlee at The Meadows on Saturday night left one amazed at his tenacity, his chase and strength.
