LOTS to write about this week from both here and in New Zealand.

First, Shima Shine (Barcia Bale-Shima Song by Dyna Tron) carried on his winning way into yet another G1 feature, this time the Harrison Dawson.

Already the winner of the Topgun and Gold Bullion at the highest level, he holds four track records which is always the sign of a future stud dog success. He has been a finalist in yet another five Group 1s.

His pedigree saturation is a 2x2 of Princess Bale (Hallucinate-Gold Rush Bale) and Dyna Tron (Collision-Gold Rush Bale).

But, it is not a recap of Shima Shine's pedigree I want to highlight, but the intense in-breeding which makes him so good.

It is all about Allen Deed (Jarvis Bale-Greta Bale by Where's Pedro) the Meadows TR breaker and G1 Adelaide Cup winner who is flying under the radar at stud. And it is the pedigree match of almost all of his best progeny to date that brings in the comparison to the pedigree of Shima Shine.

His daughter Qwara Bale (Allen Deed-Daithy Allen by SH Avatar) recently won the G2 Warrnambool Cup and then clinched her spot in the G1 Sapphire Crown final this week with a fast heat win last Thursday night.

She is in-bred 2x3 to Greta Bale (Where's Pedro-Gold Rush Bale) and Princess Bale (Hallucinate-Gold Rush Bale).

Group finalist Fabriola Zad is by Allen Deed from Fabriola Allen who is a litter sister to Qwara Bale's dam Daithy Allen and thus brings in the same 2x3 of Greta Bale and genetic sister Princess Bale.

Which moves us on to multiple G1 winning stayer Stanley Road (Allen Deed-Piper Road by Barcia Bale). He too is incestuously in-bred 2x3 to Greta Bale and Princess Bale.

And, that moves us on to Jax Bale and his sister Malayah Bale, both G1 performers. They are Allen Deed-Helma Bale by Bella Infrared. They too are in-bred but this time via a 2x3 cross of Greta Bale and Bartrim Bale who, we all know, is the litter brother to Princess Bale.

Allen Deed is also sire of Ellias Bale (Allen Deed-Ivy Bale by Turanza Bale) a recent G1 Bold Trease finalist. This is a saturation of the Wheeler family's famed Gail's Beauty direct damline.

Dyna Forrest (Allen Deed-Razza Bale by Dyna Lachlan) was the first quality offspring sired by Allen Deed making the final of the G1 Australian Cup and G2 Qld Derby. His dam is in-bred 3x2 to the half sisters Vista Bale and Arivada Bale, both out of Luana Bale.

Allen Deed is line bred to the Gail's Beauty family so Dyna Forrest was intensely in-bred to this family. No wonder the Wheeler family utilised Allen Deed as a stud dog with some subsequent intensely in-bred pedigrees that have worked to Group level.

WHICH brings me to New Zealand where Group racing has held sway at Addington last Friday.

First up is NZ Oaks winner Jelly Fish (Collision-Fair Pippa by Barcia Bale).

It is the bitch's dam Fair Pippa (Barcia Bale-Jinja Power by Bombastic Shiraz) that interests me. She was third in the NZ Oaks herself and is line bred 3x3 to Hallucinate very similar to the pedigree we designed that produced Group class Kendall, What About It etc.

Second dam Jinja Power is bred identically to legend Miata.

Oaks runner-up, Fond Of You (Dream Collector-Nicey Spicey by Swift Fancy), also has a direct damline that fascinates.

Her 10th dam is none other than legend Elsie Moss coming via her famous staying daughter Pearl Moss and through her daughter the classy Edelgard Moss.

The G1 NZ St Leger was also run.

Runner-up Adobe Bro (My Bro Fabio-Corinth Bale by Fernando Bale) took my eye.

It is the reverse of a cross already proven to G1 class.

Turanza Bale (Fabio's sire) is a virtual brother to Chloe Allen (Fernando's dam). They are both by Primo Uno, and both have Head Honcho, Silver Ball and the Gail's Beauty damline in their direct female family.

Corinth Bale is already bred on the highly proven cross of Fernando Bale with a daughter of Dyna Lachlan (i.e. Hecton Bale, Fernando Blaster, Allen Ablett, Yozo Bale, Dirk Bale, Winlock On Top etc etc etc).

But, back in Australia Fernando Bale and My Bro Fabio are already proven via their "nick". Recent Group finalists, littermates Ice Cream Story, Teddy The Bear and One Dimension (Fernando Bale-Sheez My Chicki by My Bro Fabio) proven that.

It is VERY early in the stud careers of both Fernando Bale and My Bro Fabio so a "nick" proven to G1 level so early augurs well.

The trouble is, the Fabio bitches will need to be BIG to counter Fernando's propensity to sire bitches that are on the small side.

Sheez My Chicki was third in the G1 National Futurity and a finalist in the G2 Richmond Oaks to make her a fabulous broodbitch prospect.
