ANYONE who watched the final of the Zoom Top Maiden at Goulburn could not be anything but staggered with the way Joey The Jet won the 440m race by an ever-expanding 11 lengths.

Joey is Feral Franky-Paua Of Janie by Aston Dee Bee.

His pedigree is intense and one which we should certainly take a much closer look.

The fourth line of his pedigree shows a 4x4x4 of Bombastic Shiraz twice through daughters and once through a son.

It also shows a 4x4 of the famous half sisters Chili Berger and Paua To Burn. Chili Berger has been the dominant broodbitch, but Paua To Burn is in the hall of fame for her racetrack exploits.

AND, Paua To Burn’s influence as a broodbitch is certainly coming to the fore … Joey being a perfect example.

Paua To Burn is his 4 th dam.

But, the pedigree also introduces a 4x5 of the brothers Where’s Pedro and Hallucinate.

In fact, if you look close enough, Joey The Jet’s pedigree shows a 2x2 of Solar Pak and Aston Dee Bee who are bred on a similar cross, and a 2x1 of Solar Pak and Paua Of Janie who are virtual sisters.

It is an intensity that has made Joey the jet he is on the racetrack.

His dam Paua Of Janie (Aston Dee Bee-Paua To Admit by Fabregas) won 13 of her 31 starts and was second to Typhoon Sammy in the G2 Traralgon Cup final.

Typhoon Sammy, of course, is also by Aston Dee Bee.

The Zoom Top Maiden also saw Joey The Jet’s litter brother, Rue Deville among the finalists
