Pulp

PULP
27.06.2010
A VERY special pedigree was put together when the Richmond Oaks winner and multiple Group finalist Frosty Fruits was mated to Collision back in 2007.
It's easy for us now to reflect on the success of that litter.
The much hyped Goodesy has been the standout, but not far behind him is Little Sparkle, Dollstan Dream and now Group 3 Big Dog Cup winner Pulp.
Pulp gave the Chappelow family of Sylvannia Heights in Sydney their first Group victory after quite a few years of trying.
Frosty Fruits was one of the first to showcase the nick that is Just The Best/Token Prince. Mating this pair together brings in the genetic sisters Flying Amy and True Temptation.
Frosty Fruits is line bred four times to Brother Fox, three of those through sons Worth Doing and Amerigo Man (twice) but importantly for Frosty Fruits' ability to run was the fact she also carried a valuable daughter of Brother Fox in Kalyara Dream.
The bitch's pedigree also showed a duplication and sex balance to Chariot Supreme.
When it came time to mate Frosty Fruits a few ancestors needed to be brought in to make sure she had her chance of producing offspring that could run.
The fact that Frosty Fruits herself was a Group class race bitch gave her a huge head start on most broodbitches.
So when she was to be mated she certainly didn't need any more SONS of Brother Fox in the stud dog she went to. She already had enough of that in her own pedigree.
Collision has just one cross of Brother Fox through his daughter Follow Through the first plus for this mating.
Collision's most dominant ancestor within his pedigree is Malawi's Prince, his damsire.
The duplication of Malawi's Prince is a common theme in a number of the best offspring of Collision (High Earner the perfect example).
So the fact Frosty Fruits had a SON (Token Prince) strain of Malawi's Prince in her pedigree was another huge plus in this mating's favour.
Now back to that duplication of Chariot Supreme in Frosty Fruits.
The stud dog she mated needed to carry a DAUGHTER of Waverly Supreme* within his pedigree to allow those duplications of Chariot Supreme to be sex balanced.
Collision has Waverly Supreme's daughter Wave To Mouse as his third dam.
Craig Chappelow reports that all 10 of the Collision-Frosty Fruits litter broke in exceptionally, Pulp as good as Goodesy.
Craig's dad Ken trains sister Little Sparkle a multiple Group runner-up. She is an outstanding race bitch and an excellent broodbitch proposition. So what options are for her in the future?
The fact there is a duplication of Malawi's Prince within her pedigree means she should probably mate a stud dog that carries a DAUGHTER of Malawi (the sire of Malawi's Prince).
The former record breaking sprinter and Group winner Superman (Brett Lee-I'm Puzzles by Head Honcho) would do me as a mate for Little Sparkle.
That's because he carries Malawi Blue (a daughter of Malawi) as his second dam.
Superman also brings in Walkabout Sid through his son Head Honcho to link with the daughter duplication of his litter brother Amerigo Man within the pedigree of Frosty Fruits.
Other options for Little Sparkle include duplicating Credibility, Token Prince, Awesome Assassin, or even Flying Amy. Certainly Brett Lee sons, and now grandsons, should be looked at.
Finding future mates for Little Sparkle would be a position I'd love to be in.
The Chappelow family has waited years for their first Group victory. Their next won't be so long specially as they have access to such a wonderful damline.
